Biography

James started playing fiddle at the age of 10 and went on to the pipes a year later under the teaching of Tommy Keane at the London Pipers Club. Coming from a family with both brother and sister also playing, it wasn't long before several All-Ireland titles and Comhaltas tours were under his belt. In his late teens he also started teaching and is now a prolific teacher in and around the Luton area. To date he is much in demand, and has toured the world extensively playing and recording with many artists and bands such as Sin E, Oysterband, Cara Dillon, Big Session, Damien Dempsey, Capercaillie, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and more. He has also through his many influences been a great writer of contempary tunes on the pipes.
